Brian A. Napack has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of John Wiley & Sons, Inc. since December 04, 2017. At Macmillan, he helped to drive significant, profitable growth and to transform the Macmillan from a traditional publisher to an innovative provider of digital content, tools and services to its rapidly changing institutional and consumer markets.
Brian Napack has a robust career in the education and media industries, as well as extensive operational experience. Brian served as a Partner and Co-Head of Media and Entertainment at L.E.K. Consulting LLC, where he led strategy, operations and M&A engagements throughout the media, entertainment and communications industries. He founded ThinkBox Inc. in 1997 and served as the Chief Executive Officer and President. Brian Napack served for The Walt Disney Company, where he founded Disney Educational Publishing and served as the Vice President. Mr. Napack was a Co-founder of Disney Interactive Studios, Inc. He served as a Vice President at Paramount/Simon and Schuster and Computer Curriculum Corporation. He served as a Management Consultant at A.T. Kearney, Inc. He served as a Strategic Advisor to large private equity investors on their investments in the media and related sectors. Mr. Napack’s work as an Executive and Advisor has spanned the Internet, book publishing, magazine publishing, education, children’s media, filmed entertainment, television and branded merchandising. Brian has focused on the creation of businesses in education and entertainment that leverage new technologies and distribution platforms to address evolving market demands. He also held senior roles at publishing giant Simon & Schuster, Inc. He has been the Chairman of Burning Glass International Inc. since June 24, 2015. He has been Vice Chairman of Blackboard Inc., since 4, 2016.
